Description
Mike Babcock says his team needs to play more heavy, gritty and physical hockey. Even though many of us want to see more disciplined, skill based off where speed and creativity dominate, the Bruins and Blues have proved you can only win with grit.

This is the worst Marner trade I've ever seen. You're joking right?

Not the one who said it was a terrible trade, but I'll try to chime in here. It's a bad trade because you're subtracting a tremendous forward talent who plays in all facets of the game for a pretty good defenseman, a fourth liner, and a late second round pick. There's a lot of other trades out there that are possible and match the value of Marner better, but this one severely undervalues Marner.

Thank you for the explanation. However I still disagree, I think it is an excellent deal for the Leafs. Not only are they shedding a huge salary dump, they are also getting a physical top 2 defenseman who can play both a shutdown role and as a puck mover, plus one of the most effective fourth liners in the NHL. With the addition of a late 2nd rounder to sweeten the deal, somehow it is still not enough?
