Vegas is a cup contender now, they're not trading all of Stastny, Miller and Smith for cap space.

Good luck trading Stastny with that contract at his age and his numbers last year...you’ll have to include a prospect of value.

They have to trade Miller and Smith now to be able to resign Karlsson and Gusev and be under the cap for th 19-20 season.

You killed their depth. Let Stastny play out his contract.

10m in cap space, no reason to jettison players and overpay RFAs like Bischoff and Zykov.

Quite possibly. Or VGK might have to retain some salary. This is just an exercise of looking to the future. Stastny is going to have to go if Karlsson, Eakin, and Glass are staying.

Karlsson, Eakin, and Glass are top 9 centers. You can't hold Glass down in the minors forever. And he isn't going to be properly utilized in a 4C role.

Eakin, Holden, Haula, Reaves, Merrill add up to what like $11M+? There's other trade options then moving Stastny, Miller and Smith, not saying any one of them wouldn't be moved but all three seems very unlikely given the other trade options they have and all the guys I listed other teams would have interest in as depth additions.

I'm a big Eakin fan but are we sure he's a 2C?
He seems like the one that's a prime candidate to be traded for cap relief, should be able to get a decent pick or two for him.

Stastny is a better C than Eakin. Let him be 3C if Glass emerges. Eakin can move to wing or be traded or let go as a UFA.

So you would rather have a 35 year old for 1 year and 6.5 mil than a 30 year old who penalty kills for 4 years and 4.1 mil???
