Ottawa accepts. Gudbransson is bad, but he's a "good local boy" and could be the depth addition needed for Dorion to be confident in moving on from Ceci.

I feel like Ottawa was a good destination for Gudbranson because he’s a good veteran guy who helps Ottawa reach the cap floor.

While I'm not usually opposed to giving away a first, Penguins prospect pool is way too bare right now and this draft is deep. GMJR still thinks it's "win now" mode but they need to use their first this year

I tend to agree. For all the flack he gets, he brings some physicality and he can be a steady presence on the right side for someone like Brannstrom, similar to what Methot brought to EK. He would also be a good bodyguard for Brannstrom, who is still very undersized.

He's not a good player, but if he's playing with Brannstrom, he just needs to be passable.

I disagree...it’s win now mode until Crosby and Malkin retire. They have a 3-4 year window where they’re still gonna be really good so they need to do everything they can to get one more cup in that timeframe.

This. At this point there’s absolutely no reason to just throw all your chips in and try to get a cup while Crosby and Malkin are on the team. It’s going to be a long, brutal rebuild when they retire no matter what the Penguins do now, might as well go for it
