I know. Caleb Jones is a really good prospect though. He's looking like a 4th rounder steal for the Oilers.

he is at best a top 4 defenseman, Columbus wouldn't trade two top 6 players on very good contracts, let alone josh Anderson who is one of the more unique power forwards in the game right now .

Who's the good player the Blue Jackets are getting in return for Josh Anderson?

Um, what? Wennberg is a top-6 player now? What planet are you from?

It looks like they're trading 1 cheap year of Anderson in order to get rid of the terrible Wennberg contract. And still getting a couple of highly skilled young players with potential and a high pick next year.

His last full season without injuries he put up 60 points.. you must expect a lot from your 3rd line centremen

The last 2 seasons he played 141 games, ample time for a $5M player to score... 10 goals? Seriously? WTF! Even Milan Lucic scored more over the past 2 seasons!! nod

But wait! Is he a top-6 player or is he a 3rd line centreman?? You can't have it both ways. Are you admitting that you were WRONG now that I called you on it? laugh

That is a terrible comparison, a 24 year old center and a 31 year old guy who cant skate. Don't try to twist an argument when Wennberg is actually a contributing player on a team versus lucic … he played on a line between Panarin and Anderson so idk what you would call that but id assume top 6? Hes well over 50% on faceoffs and has good possession numbers, you aren't getting him for a crippled defenseman, a 4th overall bust (There was a reason why Columbus passed on him at 3rd overall) and a B- prospect.

Bjorkstrand and Duclair were Wennberg's most common linemates, followed by Foligno and Dubinsky. That's not top-6. He can't produce and he's way overpaid, he's a cap dump. You'll have to pay a team to take him.

That will be an easy cap dumb, the oilers are really doing Columbus a favor in this trade... even though the two nhlers from Edmonton (Russel AND Jesse) had combine the same point total and more of a cap hit...

Again with the misinformation.

$4.9 + $1.85 = $6.75M

$4 + $0.9 = $4.9M

Yup, $4.9 is more than $6.75 - you're totally right.

NOT.

I was just using Wennbergs salary which is even …
if I wanted to include Anderson I would have said that a player with about 1/3 of the cap hit of the NHL players you included had DOUBLE the amount of points then the two players you included let alone a fast power forward which is a niche position in the NHL. But thanks for making my point stronger ..
