Description

I saw someone else posting a Nashville ACGM which had Nashville acquiring Marner for some first some seconds smith and a prospect. I didn't think that was good enough so i'm just messing around with the idea of what is acceptable. And yes I -know- Arvidsson every nashville fan will be screaming arvidsson is untradeable but I'm tired of looking at the same things over and over and over again.

If you think of an alternative please feel free to make suggestions, Don't just say "Team A Hangs up and laughs"

Sweet. You go tell me how Marner gets on defense? Ellis? After they just traded pk? Larsson? He's not that great. Everyone who says stetcher gets laughed and ridiculed at.

So please tell me which Defenseman should I have gone for that's even remotely available.

Calgary needs to add for Kadri.

What about: Marner for 1st,2nd,Tolvanen,Ellis ??

I would accept that without hesitation, I just don't think Nashville would as they traded away PK and it would make their right side much softer.

Marner and a bit more could get you almost any defenseman you want.

Wayne Gretzky got traded multiple times. Nashville traded their captain 3 years ago. Everybody is available if you offer enough. Marner is enough.

I don't mind Marner being traded but the Leafs are going to get the at least the equivalent of 4 first rounders to make it worth their while. This trade doesn't do it, especially since Turris is a cap damp.

That Calgary trade is bad for the Leafs. One year or Brodie for three years of Kadri and more.

I'll edit this for Ellis. I grabbed Turris purely as a replacement for Kadri and he's also better then people give him credit for.

"Given an extension?" Why would the Leafs do that? Why Brodie do that? And really so what happens, The Flames tell Brodie "We have tentatively traded to Toronto, Now talk to them and try to work an extension. But if the Leafs and you can't come to an agreeement, hey you are always welcomed back to the Flames for one more year of you contract though we don't really want you on our team."
Most of these extension theories are really just covering up bad trades.

Anyways that makes more sense, glad you recognize how good Marner is lol

With the right deal involving Marner, I could see him getting parayko, Jones/werenski, literally any top defenseman. That’ll sound ridiculous to people, but a 95 point 21 year old winger could get you just about anyone.

Yes, you should but some thought into it. Ottawa who were finishing out of the playoffs had already talked extension with Turris but he turned it down. Turris was being traded by TDL for sure. And as we seen it's been a bad deal for Nashville. Brodie is an important part of a 1st place team, you think it's the same. Leafs certainly don't know what their cap situation is 2019/20 and aren't committing to Brodie.
