Initial Creation Date: Jun. 25, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We are in a very weird situation, but there are different ways that we can solve it. We have 12 mil in space and if we were to sign our "More Important" players (McAvoy, Carlo, Heinen, Acciari) we would be 4 mil over the cap. SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE. And the Backes contract is pretty much Unmovable.

1. Sign Carlo and McAvoy and one of the other 2 players mentioned before and be over the cap by a little and trade small pieces to get back under the cap.

2. Sign the 4 players and Trade Krejci. He is the highest paid player on the team but he doesn't play like it. After his season this year his value is at an all time high. Trade him to a team who may or may not be in the playoffs and get their first round pick. You can't take back much cap because it'll be close. From there you'll have 3 mil in cap to possibly sign Johansson (if he's willing to take less for 1 year) or Trade Krug for a top 6 Power Forward.

3. Sign the 4 players and then Trade Krug for picks and no cap coming back and only be about a Mil over the cap.

4. Sign the 4 players, Trade Krejci and Rask and then sign another Halak type goalie.

5. Sign the 4 player, be 4 mil over, and Take Backes and 1st and 2nd round picks to trade him to teams that can take on the cap.

In my eyes, in terms in likeliness, I think in order from most likely to least likely is 2,1,3,4,5. Probably going to get torn up for this but let me know what you guys think.

its easy to say trade krejci but when you dont get a haul back for him everyone is going to freak. i know people thing you'll get the world back for him but thats not what is going to happen. Plus you have to take money back most likely. As much as I like coyle is he really a guy you see anchoring the second line. I read your little outline and I get the logic. Try using it on here now and show us how they can pull it off.

As far as the return for Krejci, it can't be much money coming back. The best return you'll probably get is to trade him to a team that is on the brink of the playoffs. Trade for their first round pick plus more and hope they miss the playoffs. That pick now becomes a lottery pick. As far as Coyle goes I want him to play on the 2nd line. His regular season wasn't much but in the playoffs, he was one of our top forwards. He can play in big moments and I'm going to be comfortable if he's there.

Not going to lie I like the idea and it does make sense. However, I'm almost positive Sweeney is going to try and lock up McAvoy long term.
