2019-2020 To start the season

Description
Bergevin discussed not wanting to overspend during free agency, and after the Alzner contract I believe he holds true to this testament, and doesn't dish out any long term deals.
Chiarot is a steady, reliable number 5 defenceman, who has the ability to potentially play top 4 minutes (he was for WPG during their short playoff run).
Mcehlinney is a reliable back-up, and with the release of the habs schedule, they'll need to give Carey some rest at points during the season, 14 back to backs as well as a jam packed finish to the year.
The powerplay struggled mightily last season, and there's been reports of the habs being interested in Wayne Simmonds. He could add a boost to the teams powerplay, but is definitely not what he once was in Philly. A short term deal makes sense for Simmonds and the Habs.

If the LD isn't working out as they hope, I don't see Bergevin leaving this roster as is. A player like T.J Brodie, Ghostisbhere, or Leddy can be brought in at the expense of one or a combination of byron or shaw and picks/propsects during the season. In a scenario where this happens, I believe this is where Ryan Poehling will earn his full time roster spot with the big club.

These lines are exactly what we had last season, and we had the 30th ranked PP. I think Bergevin should at least try and add a player who can help us out in that section of the game, which is why simmonds on short term might be a fit.

They don't, what I mean is adding simmonds, he can play on the PP better than most guys on our current roster for the net front presence.
