Description
Would Minnesota do this?
Vegas won't trade with the Jets but Winnipeg needs some size and Reaves on a line with Lowry would make for a wrecking crew combination.

Cause he's not a good leader and his contract is gonna be ugly soon, this team is not a contender in 19-20 so should cut their losses and move him before it's too late.

Really? I just don't see it, if Nashville signs Duchene they're easily a playoff team and Colorado is a lock for the playoffs, Dallas is improving and St. Louis isn't collapsing and if Chicago sorts out their goaltending they'll be a decent team.
I think the Jets are in tough to be as good as they were last season and last season wasn't very good.

Nope, I'm not.
We'll see, if they figure out a centre to work with Laine that'll change things but if they don't it'll be just another wasted season.

Let's assume MissTheWhalers is correct....then why does Minni make the trade? But "Whaler" might be right in the trade , the Jets have to move cap and maybe this the way to do it and Jets get a decent LHD, a position of need in return for two years. Then the Jets have over 8m of cap space with Wheeler/Brodin gone.

Well I think I'm right but I usually am so...?
Well Minnesota was in on Kessel so who's to say they wouldn't be interested in Wheeler, different players but Wheeler should help increase scoring for the Wild.
It's that I hear these Ehlers trade rumors and think it's moronic to trade a 23 year old winger on a good contract for cap space when you have a 33 year old winger who makes more. I know they won't trade Wheeler but if they're logical they would, I see this team staggering along for the next few seasons with mostly the same lineup and an aging Wheeler soaking up cap space and no cup to show for it.

I'm down on them in the short term yes but I'm bullish on their long term prospects if they play their cards right.
