Man I'd kill for Gusev, he's perfect for us in every way but we'd have to give up a roster player. I know you said no salary and Fenton said he won't trade Zucker unless it's a no brainer but Gusev is a no brainer to me. Would something around Zucker even work? We could take on one of those defenseman signed to larger money and send Seeler your way (cheap and solid 3rd pairing LD). If that's not enough maybe Greenway could be added but we'd probably have to take on more salary... Idk Zucker, Greenway, and Seeler for Gusev and Holden maybe?

Edit: otherwise maybe Greenway is enough to get it done. He has a ton of potential

Sure, we could take him. We just signed Hartman but Hartman has played center. Something like Zucker and Greenway for Gusev and Reaves?

Vegas taking 5.5 for Zucker. Minny taking 3.8 for Eakin and 2.2 in Holden. So Vegas only clears .5 in the deal.

Good point, although Vegas has $3M in space after sending Clarkson to LTIR for the year so the situation isn't as dire as it seems.

Flames offer would centre around Kylington. Young D man, still waiver eligible tons of potential. Kelly mcrimmon is familiar with him too, he selected him in the import draft when he was with the Brandon Wheat Kings although Kylington ultimately wen pro instead of WHL

They are 2m apart between what Gusev's camp wants and what our qualifying offer was. I think we end up getting a deal done, but of course this depends on what the cost/benefit between the "deal" and what another team might offer.
