Not only are Carolina gonna match that offersheet on Aho, but now you want Bean... an elite defensive prospect.... for Mike Rielly who's a good 3rd pairing guy... and a 2nd? Bean starts with a 1st bud, and you can't trade your own 2020 2nd rounder right now because of the Aho offersheet. Enjoy <3

If the offer sheet was a request from Carolina i don't know why they would wait 7 days to match it or not

To tie up MTL is why they're waiting. Montreal can't spend within 300k of the cap because it would move them over the offseasons inflated cap should Aho not be matched, they can't trade their picks in any of the first 3 rounds this year. Carolina are just gonna force Montreal to sit tight and wait

They (MTL) still have 11 million to play with. They (Canes) are trying to find the 21 million to pay Aho. Tom is one cheap owner who doesn't like to give bonuses.

Yes Dudley asked Bergevin to give Aho a 21m$ bonus in the 1st year of the contract... your theory makes 0 sense

You have that the wrong way around. Tom Dundon is the one that spend 250 mil on the AAF, you may be thinking of the previous owner Peter Karmanos, who could also contribute money to pay for Aho, he still owns 31% of the team. the only trade i see between MTL and CAR now if it happen. is MTL overpaying for a AHL guy for example for the canes to not match the offersheet
