Only One Issue Needs to be Addressed

Created by: OldNYIfan
Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 2, 2019
Published: Jul. 2, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
There is nothing wrong with this forward group, the forward prospect pool (including Zegras, Lundestrom, Morand, Groulx and Tracey), the goaltending, the goalie prospect pool, the left defense or the left defense prospect pool (including Benoit, Lacombe and Thrun). The weakness at RD is obvious and extends into the prospect pool, where Anaheim only has Hunter Drew. I hope Bob Murray can work some magic here. The only free agents left on the market are superannuated veterans like Engelland, Girardi and Lovejoy or guys no one has any confidence in, so it looks like a trade is going to be required if Anaheim is to make the playoffs this year with any hope of winning a round or two.

If you have a good puck moving defenseman he can play on his off-side and be more defensive

Late last season even when he was playing with Welinski they forced Fowler to play the right. I’m thinking that’s the way this is headed

Now that Florida has signed Anton Stralman, I wonder what their price for Mark Pysyk or MacKenzie Weegar is. Unfortunately, it doesn't look to me like they'd be interested in a RW.

Don't forget we're going to sign that big Finnish d-man. Based on his age and success in the SM-Liga I would assume he'd be slotted in for top-6 duty. Can't imagine he'd be signing with an NHL team just to go back to the A. Unless he just really likes San Diego.

I would agree, especially since he was playing on the right side with guhle before he got hurt and they were playing pretty well together.
