Yamamoto wouldn’t be in top 3 forwards to start the year in NHL unless he greatly progressed in 1 offseason. Benson, Marody and Gambardella even Haas are more likely. Also Mantha might never play again last I heard serious eye problem so that spot is likely Jones or Lagesson

This is what happens when a non Oilers fan tries to do this, thanks for the corrections bud. Just was curious what the cap situation looked like.

Probably pretty spot on for what Dzingel will end up signing for. The Oil and their 3.9M will definitely have to jettison a roster piece to make a signing work.

I'd hate for that piece to be Kass (slowly developed a soft spot for him). Assuming that the new signings will not be moved, you're also pretty spot on with the asset leaving in the trade.

Only Kass and Benning would fulfill this criteria without swallowing a poision pill (Russell, Looch, Gags) A prospect would not clear enough cap space.

Kinda looks good with Dzingel in the top 6 though eh

The Score had Aho making 10 a year, that it was impossible for the Leafs to improve thier D with out Moving a Marners, Nylander or Matthews, they also said Marleau would only waive for SJ,shall I go on about how accurate the score is.

Dzingel will cost the Oilers a Lucic size deal

Didn't say it would happen. Just curious what it would look like.

Interestingly enough I first tried to trade Russell couldn't make it work. Then saw Kassian and seemed to have some value

Yeah you're pretty bang on with the value to make this work. IMO probably unlikely they go this route, but if they were to, what you've suggested is one of the few options within the ballpark.

Can't see them trading one of the (for lack of a better term) untouchables for anything other than a game changer, no disrespect intended to Dzingel whatsoever. Even Larsson. I like his toughness. It doesn't look like fun to play in the corners against him.

Benning or Kass is all I see moving out to make this signing. Can't see it happening when in all likelihood a Dzingel or equivalent is available next year.

We gotta suck up a year or two of bad contracts, as impatient as our fan base may be.
