If the expansion draft were to take place right now this is a possible roster Las Vegas could end up with. I tried to take into account who each team would try to protect and who needed to be protected because of NMC's or NTC's and considered who would likely be bought out, and then picked the best player available from each team for a total of 30 players. The draft will take place next offseason so it doesn't take into account possible signings and trades that will take place in the next year, but it still gives a good idea of what the team could look like. It also doesn't take into account any signings or trades the team makes after the expansion draft. Here are some key players that have expiring contracts before the 2017-2018 season (either in this offseason or the following offseason):
Took longer than I'm proud to admit but I was curious to see how good they could end up being and there's not much else for us hockey fans to do this time of the year
Great work! but one slight point to make from the Avs perspective.
Avs will of course be signing both Barrie and Pickard this offseason.
If the Avs can only protect one goalie, they will protect Pickard and leave Varlamov and his 5.9mil cap hit exposed.

Thanks for the input I think you're right if both goaltenders continue to play how they did last season. Varly would have to have a pretty good season for LV to show any interest in him and his 5.9 mil cap hit so the Avs would probably protect Pickard and just see what happens with Varly.
You fail as a GM you just put your team $23 million over the cap, Besides this is for the 2017/18 season like your thing says and Helm is a UFA this year not next year so how does he sign with Las Vegas again.
