The only goalie that would be worth while would be a upgrade on Smith as a starter but Smith should be an upgrade on the last few years.
Backland is also finally becoming the player he was drafted to be 10 years ago, and he should be in the teams long term plans. He had a Selke caliber season last year and playing with Frolik again makes me believe he could do it again.
Jankowski was drafted as a 5 year project and that would mean this year is when he was expected to make his move and all signs point to him being in the lineup this season.

So in all, as a flames fan i am not moving those two players.</div></div>

Why?? Smith is really old, and Lack is only meant to be a backup. Wouldn't you want a grade A goalie prospect in the pipeline waiting to take over the reigns?</div></div>

We have 3 A Grade goalie prospects actually: Tyler Parsons (Memorial Cup champion, World Juniors champion for the US), Jon Gillies (NCAA title and MVP for Frozen 4), David Rittich (.924 save% in his first AHL year from coming over from Europe), then we still have Mason MacDonald, Schneider etc in the pipeline for goalies, we're very well set there. The exact reason we grabbed Smith was because we wanted a short term goalie before we call those guys up.
(and I'm in no way criticizing since it's tough to know other teams prospects - I have no clue who T. Jarry is either so I literally can't judge lol) -
we're deep on Goalie, center, leftwing and defence. Weak on RW and lack draft picks - so Hornqvist is attractive (if he'll waive to come to Calgary even and pay those awesome Canadian taxes, which is why Canadian clubs tend to be on that no trade list) but we'd be the ones trying to offer defence/goalie depth I think :P

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spanky227</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jvaneng</b></div><div>That 'from a Calgary Post' It was posted by someone who makes teams for everyone, and actually knows very little about the Flames or Backlund, so please don't think a Flames fan created that, or Flames would even consider it. This would be a very hard no from the Flames. No one trades a #2C for a #7/8 dman (and Holden being right-handed is below Hamilton, Hamonic and Stone by a fair margin - so he's #7 max. Gulutzan doesn't play D on their off hand so left isn't an option - even then you still have Gio/Brodie/Kulak over there)
I think my comparison on their page was - trading the Rangers Zibanejad to Colorado for Dman Mark Barberio and on top of that the Rangers can throw in Goalie prospect Georgiev. So try and look at it from the perspective (adding 4th and B-prospect won't entice the Rangers to make that trade either - let alone retaining salary)</div></div>

the point is take that and run from the rangers perspective.. i didn't think it was that fair at all hence why i was like okay i gotta add at least something. only thing is holden is a left handed shot.... i think he traded brodie hence why he needed the left handed shot.. i don't know too much about backlund but i know he's a decent mid six player. don't know how flames value him though-- obv didn't look to far into who made it</div></div>

Actually it was kinda harsh on you now that I read it - when I typed it out, it didn't sound as mean in my head - so apologies for that (and yes you're right Holden is left handed and plays Right D.)
Backs quite frankly was our best player for most of last year - takes the toughest assignments and still puts up points - he was up there in Selke voting last year for that reason :)

Well....it takes guts to create Armchair teams you're not familiar with I'll give you that.
I will say Philly, Ottawa and New York all thank you very very much.
Now for some feedback
Flames won't have interest in Voracek. Vanderm and PhillyJabroni have had some fun compare's on here for trades between Philly and the Flames. General consensus is you're looking Konecny/Simmonds (one or the other) to start.
Brodie is top Dman, and will likely take over top spot from Gio this year. Turris would be the starting point from the Sens. (The Flames have Mony, Backs, Bennett, Jankowski, Lazar, Stajan for center depth)

The Rangers trade.... well of the 3 trades you made....that's just... bad... as a comparison - Let's trade the Rangers Zibanejad to Colorado for lets say... Dman Mark Barberio and on top of that the Rangers can throw in Goalie prospect Georgiev. (You can try and argue Holden is better, but bottom line is, on the Flames Holden is a #7/8 dman and will be passed quickly) On the Right side we have Hamilton, Hamonic, Stone, (Holden would be well below those three)

It's hard to know other teams prospects so I'll pitch in - For D you'd have Kulak, Andersson in there then Kylington (Valimaki will be in the minors this year) - On Forward - Hrivek is going to be in the minors for a while yet (and is RW) you're going to have these prospects play before him- Jankowski (C), Foo (RW), Pribyl (RW), Mangiapane (LW), Klimchuk (LW), Poirier (LW), Shinkuruk (LW/C) ahead of him. Probably a few I'm missing like Dube etc

Again I will give you props for having the gonads to create multiple league teams. I hope you watch a ton of hockey this year! Hopefully some Flames games
