Not trolling just put a few players, on. Im more asking what would a Calgary fan accept as fair value. Since Nylander/Marner/Matthews are much better players.

Ahh got it.

Although saying Nylander/Marner/Matthews are much better players is kind of silly. Tkachuk is a really good player too. Matthews, okay but Tkachuk is on par with those other two or at least not much worse then they are.

Problem is with Tkachuck is he probably will be about a 60point player at best, whereas Nylander/Marner has the capacity to get 80point seasons. Anywho, what would you be okay in exchange for Tkachuk.

If people could foresee players stats/etc after their rookie seasons, they'd be millionaires...... Take Marner and Nylander out of Toronto place them in let's say Detroit, do they still have the capacity for 80 pt seasons? Its relative, play with good players and you'll score. Tkachuk playing next to 40G Matthews would of put up 60 pts as well I would think.

I don't think T.O has anything that Calgary would want for Tkachuk to be honest. (Taking Nylander/Marner/Matthews out of the equation.)

Chucky may not have as high of a point based ceiling as Nylander and Marner but he brings so many other aspects that those two don't. He can irritate and cause other players to take penalties and get off their game. He can stand up and fight if need be and he can and will hit. Nylander and Marner, though great players, only bring scoring. I would trade Thachuk for either.

I would argue that Tkachuk has FAR MORE value than Marner. Mitch is a small quick forward who has potential to score points.
BUT BUT BUT, Tkachuk is a bigger bodied, quick forward who has potential to score points.....AND....he purposely targeted Drew Doughty and pissed him off. Tell me the last guy Marner targeted on the ice.
This coming season will tell us all so much about Marner, since the league will be more aware of him and he's not sneaking up on anyone this year. Wouldn't be shocked to see him struggle at points in the season.

Matthews is generational, but Nylander and Marner....well I'll make the case for Tkachuk and why he's just as good.
He was used as a shut down guy with Backlund and Frolik against teams other top lines and still managed to produce 48 pts, and dominated metrics wise (though playing with Backlund helps that cause)
Big one here is Tkachuk played 2mins less per game than Marner and Nylander, so if you based the stats on points per 60mins you'd have a very close race points wise from that perspective, and he will be getting more minutes this year.
He has the physical, pesty, intangibles edge by a mile, and started taking less penalties as the year went on
Keep in mind he is still 2 years younger than Nylander (7 months younger than Marner) so give him a couple years and picture where he'll be...(and where Marner will be actually too)

Points wise, I think Marner has the highest ceiling, and he can kill penalties too (I'm a big Marner fan actually, much more so than Nylander) but at this point in time the price for Tkachuk would be on par with those two, basically they're all untouchable.

Well actually, Tkachuk had better shot generation and suppression stats than all three of Matthews, Nylander and Marner, as well as better playmaking stats (first assists) than all three, based on their HERO charts. All three of Matthews, Nylander and Marner had more all situation ice time than Tkachuk, so it's fair to assume that given a similar amount of ice time, Tkachuk would have similar point totals to those three. I'm not saying that Tkachuk is better than Matthews, but I am saying Matthews, as well as Nylander and Marner benefitted from more playing time than Tkachuk. It's also important to note that Tkachuk's line with Backlund and Frolik was the line that Calgary would put out against the other team's best players. To say that all three are much better players is simply not true, the truth is that at this point in their careers, Tkachuk is absolutely at the very least on the same level as Marner and Nylander. That being said, I wouldn't trade him one-for-one for either of them, as he brings just as high of a skill set to the game as Marner or Nylander, and plays with an edge that neither of them will likely ever develop in their respective games.
