Interesting ideas and a good start but I think the trades are a bit uneven and Demers should not be payed that much. NYR fans will for sure say you're crazy though.

Las Vegas Roster After Expansion Draft?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>alex4avs</b></div><div><i>Great work! but one slight point to make from the Avs perspective.
Avs will of course be signing both Barrie and Pickard this offseason.
If the Avs can only protect one goalie, they will protect Pickard and leave Varlamov and his 5.9mil cap hit exposed.</i></div></div>
Thanks for the input :) I think you're right if both goaltenders continue to play how they did last season. Varly would have to have a pretty good season for LV to show any interest in him and his 5.9 mil cap hit so the Avs would probably protect Pickard and just see what happens with Varly.

Took longer than I'm proud to admit but I was curious to see how good they could end up being and there's not much else for us hockey fans to do this time of the year :cry

Kadri to SJ - Trade Deadline Deal.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jarrett18</b></div><div><i>As somebody who would highly prefer the Leafs keep Kadri over Bozak, I would definitely take this trade. Which probably means it's way too much to give up for Kadri. I know neither Meier or Mueller are having great year's but Meier and a 2nd would still be plenty if you ask me.</i></div></div>
Meier is having a pretty solid season actually. 7th in the Q in points per game despite playing on one of the worst teams in the league half the season and then being traded.

Drouin to the Sharks - Deadline Deal.
Unlike joe above me I think this is a fair deal. Drouin's value has gone down significantly over the past 1-2 years and Tampa is dealing from a point of weakness by openly shopping Drouin. I don't think Drouin is worth more than Ladd who went for Dano (slightly higher value than goldobin) and a late first round pick (roughly the same value as mueller) . Maybe you could add a player like Helewka if anything but I think it's very close to an even trade and should be excepted if Tampa doesn't receive any better options.
However, like Joe I'm not particularly excited about Drouin on the Sharks. I don't like his attitude and don't think he would fit in well with the Sharks system. We already have a player with a similar skill set that needs to work on his defensive game in goldobin but at least goldobin has a better work ethic.

Need to fix that D to become a legit contender
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PavelBuchnevich</b></div><div><i>Honka for Trouba is a pretty lateral move to me. There are defenseman you can get to shore up Dallas' D, just depends what side you're looking for.</i></div></div>
Then replace honka with the 2017 1st round pick and a lower prospect. There aren't many quality 2 way defenseman that are realistic trade options on either side.

Still not convinced with that goal tending duo and bottom 4 on defense but this should help. It's going to be tough to get a quality defenseman this deadline.

Deadline deals
Aside from the first deal this is not bad. I don't understand why they would want to trade a young forward with tons of potential for an overpaid defenseman and throw ins. Also I would recommend sending girardi back to St. Louis instead of Columbus because St. Louis will need someone to replace shattenkirk. You could add on a forward from St. Louis as well and you won't even need to make the Columbus trade. St. Louis has tons of decent forwards but lack game changers. I'm not sure they'll be interested in Nash but they could be.

Looking for a backup
This might work. Depends what the jets are looking for but I would feel much more confident with him as back up. I wonder if they would take Smith, Helewka, and Stalock for hutchinson. Helewka and goodrow are both probably worth a 3rd/4th round pick and I included Stalock just incase the jets want to let hellebuyck finish the season in the minors.

Our defense and goaltending is much improved from that series. Dont forget that in the last two games of the series our D pairings were:
Hannan Demers
Stuart Braun
Irwin Boyle</i></div></div>
That personnel still makes me cringe.
I probably sound like just another Sharks homer saying this but there's no doubt in my mind that the Sharks win that series if Vlasic isn't injured at the very start of Game 5.</i></div></div>
Vlasic was a huge loss and probably the biggest reason we lost the series. I think we would have won if he had Burns and Vlasic on defense the whole series. Another big problem that series was our defense not getting enough pucks to the net to create offense. I guarantee that wouldn't have been a problem if Burns was on the ice. Plus its not like Stuart or Hannan can defend any better than Burns..
This year we have a better defense (with vlasic showing a solid offensive game), our goaltending should be better, our bottom six is better, and pavelski is our captain. All reasons to be excited about the playoffs this year. :D</i></div></div>
If you guys can add a player such as laad, you guys will have a legitimate shot at the cup. Even without laad you have a very respectable team. It's just that the west is so damn good</i></div></div>
I just dont think its worth jeopardizing our future for a rental player in ladd.. especially when our offense already has chemistry and is among the top 5 in the league. i think meier will be ready to make the team next year is more valuable to the team. I might be willing to offer Mueller and any prospect drafted in the 2nd round or lower (except roy)

Doug Wilson is brilliant
lmao I also thought about this but I think we're probably both over thinking it... I think DW probably just knew he had to overpay a bit if he wanted to get the deal done now before the leafs had a chance to hear other offers. He probably used the Doug Murray trade from 3 years ago to estimate how much he should give up. The penguins gave us 2 second round picks for Murray, a physical stay at home defenseman to be used on the bottom pair.

Well... We definitely loss the trade in terms of value but I like the players we got in return and hope spalling can step up his offensive game. On the plus side the picks we gave up are 2017 and 2018 so we have time to replace them. I'm guessing by 2018-2019 we will be in full on rebuild mode anyway

Yea that's what I was thinking but we don't have a third round pick this year and I didn't spend enough time on this to get really creative. The first pic we have this year is a fourth rounder.. If we could get a third rounder back for tennyson/smith or something it would go toward the polak trade
