Neither of those trades make the Leafs much better. I'd take Ceci over Lybuskin

I like Ceci over Lyubushkin but It gets us Marner, with the least amount of damage and under the cap with a 23 man roster

Why? Borgman is a terrible player.

I have spoken to many girls in Toronto about the Marner situation. They all told me they would much rather keep Nylander and lose Marner since Willy is more loyal, hard working and committed to the team. Plus he isn’t greedy or arrogant and has actually shown that he is worth his contract unlike Mitch. What’d you think?

Because this helps them dump Holden while getting a 3rd and an AHL backup plus an AHL depth Dman in return.

Borgman isn’t terrible, I actually thought he played okay at the nhl level. Nothing special but serviceable, cheap scratch or bottom pair.

He’s heavy, slow and can’t move the puck. This guy isn’t NHL quality, he’s worse than Zaitsev.

I disagree, although I do agree with zaitsev being better. Borgman put up 3G 8A and +4 in 40 games of his rookie season. I thought he was actually okay.

Fine, but he shouldn’t get a spot on the team over Sandin or Liljegren.

Well, I’m talking about real life. I have been speaking to a lot of girls in the Leafs fan base about Marner’s situation. They all told me that if they were the Leafs’ GM, they would keep Nylander (6 years 7 million AAV) and get rid of Marner (~5 years, 10.5 million AAV) at all costs. They believe Nylander is more worth keeping because his on ice performances are consistent therefore he can easily justify the salary he is making. Plus, he is more hard working, committed and loyal to the team as he would sacrifice anything to ensure the Leafs succeed whereas Marner is selfish, lazy and greedy. They think ability wise that Marner is in the same category as Nylander, therefore there is no reason for Mitch to demand so much more money than Willy. What’d you think?
