Well the team is worse off without Marner, you proved that the extra cap space doesn't help.

I like this team, think if dzingel or ferland are available it might be s good idea.

Personally I would get Bracco up beside Matthews and have him signed to a 2 year 800k extension. Watch nylander put up 90 points beside Tavares for under 7m..,

I would skip packing Offence and try the following :

https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1302969

Tho i think kid will stay.....Dubarelli messaged him well with signing all the rest of players....we ( suposedlly ) offered you 8 x 10M, that was our maximum, everything we do now is from 10M down, thats the amount we left in the pot for you...I mean for you Ferris and Paul.....

Nylander @ 90 points, that's the funniest thing I've heard.

Why not? Marner did it.

Nylander had zero chemistry with Kadri, so leaving him with Matthews is the best option. The Tavares-Marner chemistry would be unmatched. Than again Marner would have good chemistry with anyone, he is a Top 10 play maker in the NHL, afterall he managed to get Kadri and JVR career years when they played with him. Same as Tavares, career best, with Marner. Maybe place Marner and Matthews together and watch Matthews scored 60+ goals.

I don't buy that narrative for a second. Marner is great, but the leafs could also become a better team without him.. Especially if this noise becomes a distraction within the locker room.

I like it. Although Pitrangelo will get more, especially on the open market. Barrie might get 8 too. I like the idea you got, but some moves need to be made

Marner and Matthews looked horrible together... why? Not enough time to build chemistry. Sorry but I have to disagree here. There is not a huge gap between nylander and marner. Marner is a great player but Tavares is a star.

Tavares is in the top 3 for goals since his draft year

I would believe that. Not to take away from mitches playmaking but if Tavares isn’t there getting open and pumping them in the back of the net marner drops to 70 points. I think they play very well together and both drive the line as a team. The difference is Tavares can drive any line and Mitch can only pitch in.

Marner scored 130 points in his first two seasons while getting 2nd and 3rd line ice time, meanwhile Nylander was playing shotgun on Matthews 1st line since his rookie year. Disagree strongly here that Nylander isn't poaching off Matthews more than Marner poaching off Tavares. Marner is greater talent than Nylander, no doubt.

My point exactly, Nylander got 1st line treatment in his first 2 full seasons and scored 60 points, Marner got 2-3 line treatment in his first 2 seasons and also scored 60 points, last season they switch roles and Nylander was a bust away from the top line, meanwhile Marner was scored 30 points more than when Nylander was on the 1st line.
