Brodie will probably ask for 5.X due to inflation. It will be less but similar to Gardiners next contract

So the Wings trade defensive forward who has three years left for a forward who is not scoring is not a defensive specialist who is making more and has 4 years left. Question are you daft? Why in the world would Detroit make this trade straight up?

Peak Neal is much better than a peak Nielsen. The thought here is a change of scenery would help Neal recover not to his 40goal days but perhaps 20 to 25 goal range. Wings are set with Larkin and AA.

But they are taking another year of a horrible cap hit for nothing. Makes no sense from Wings perspective. Neilson is a solid center and Neal is has shown nothing with a better team, Wings are not as good as Calagary so I doubt he performs better in Detroit.

Yes in prime Neal is better but I think Neilson is at this stage of their career' has more to give.
