ANA doesn't need to trade Eaves as we can just put him on LTIR. Why would a team trade you players that are bound for LTIR without a significant incentive coming back the other way? You save cap space to sign your RFAs and they get nothing back.

I'd want a 1st rounder to take on Shatty's full contract. Same as what Marleau returned for CAR. No one is going to do you a favour so you can sign all your RFAs.
