Marner is not the best player on the squad, he is 4th best behind Matthews, Tavares and Rielly

I dont mind him. I dont know about other people but imo he is a good pk'r and very good defensively. He cant move the puck at all but a pairing with dermott on it should be pretty good. He was amazing with liljegren in the AHL so I wonder if they try that out in the preseason. Hes also so good at preventing zone entries so that helps a bunch, he can play both sides and got very good results when he played with rielly a few seasons ago

I agree that i could live with the term but not crazy paying him more than Aho on shorter term. I could see if it was structured like Timo Meier and his last year was higher pay making his QO higher. 3yrs 8mil 6,6,12 and that would make his QO 12Mil or roughly 9x4

For Marincin it's always been his confidence, he does well in limited games which all he will get , he's a fill in and depth player to cover injuries. I agree on Harpur I just think Babs will run Marincin to start the season cause the devil you know is easier to handle than the devil you don't

I'm praying that harpur doesnt make the team. I wonder if that Finnish guy they signed gets a shot. I personally want borgman but if they resign Gardiner (if they move ceci) then I imagine it will be someone like holl. My ideal pairings would be
Gardiner-rielly
Muzzin-barrie
Dermott-franson/holl

If they can trade them I would want them to use the cap space on Gardiner. To me it seems like he wants to come back and with his back injury they would probably be able to sign him to a 1 year contract around 4.5-5 million dollar contract
