since TDL this team has lost Myers, Hayes, Trouba and tanev (not much of a loss but still) while replacing them with Pionk... I get their younger prospects like Niku and Vesalainen but still. thats a tough offseason

How do Jets fans feel about Wheeler as 2C? If they aren't going to go out and get along term 2C, I think it's worth giving a chance. None of the natural centres are real 2nd line options imo.

Yeah I'm not sure why they wouldn't. The only reason not to was Scheiffs and Wheeler were so good together. That, in my opinion, changed quite a bit the last half of the season, I didn't think they were that great anymore. Splitting them up gives some decent balance and a new look for opposing teams. They have been getting pretty predictable. I would only change Laine part of that, rather him to play with Scheiffele and one of those other two wingers.

You ever hear of Addition by subtraction??

Aside from Trouba, they can replace (if not improve) each of those players from within the organization.

Appleton > Tanev
Niku > Myers
Beaulieu = Chiarot.... might even be a slight improvement... but at worst, he's a wash.

I like their offseason... Really happy they decided not to throw money at replacement level players. Trouba stings, but I think they're a better team today, than they were at the end of last year. Despite, being worse on paper.

He could do it... but honestly, the guy burned himself out playing RW last year... he tries to do way too much out there... then he puts himself out of position. He works twice as hard than he has to, to get the results he gets. I think he would kill himself as a C.

Disagree on Myers vs Niku. That could change though but as of right now that’s not true.
