Pens trade

Created by: Cory
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 16, 2019
Published: Jul. 16, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Does something like this make sense for either team. I know Ehlers is valuable to the Jets and a lot of people don't like Johnson. Could he be servicable in a third pairing situation until Stanley is ready to join the club?

Haha, no not a Pens fan. Just know that something needs to happen in Winnipeg. Ehlers is good, but we need another center on a good contract. I also feel like Pittsburgh is not as powerful as they once were and that first could be a top 15 pick. MAybe take the 2nd that Winnipeg sends out. Does that make it a little closer?

why in the world would the Jets do this....take on a terrible dman with a terrible contract even with retianed salary, a very mediocre 3rd line player( he is not a 2C and if you play him there you will be in for a bad time)

As an Avs fan it would be great to see the Jets make them selves worse to play against, but man Ehlers has way more value than some spare parts then making them play in roles above their abilities

from the feedback i got from the ehlers trade i made on my armchair team, he’s worth bjugstad, a first, and a good prospect. might be a lot of players but bjugstad, Schultz, Hallander, and a first for Ehlers, Perrault, and a 3rd could possibly work idk

That is why I asked if any of this made sense. Not a Pens fan, so don't know much about those guys. Ehlers has potential, but it just seems year after year he hibernates during playoff time and Jets are always seeking a Center at the dead line.

Bjugstad is a downgrade of Lowry so it would make more sense just to make Lowry the 2C if you were willing to do that
