I'm so baffled that people are willing to give Gardiner anything but a PTO... guys the worse defenseman in the league... even Toronto fans have hated him ever since the got him in that trade.

Drouin is not a character guy that the avs are trying to sign and draft

I would give Gardiner a 1 year deal to help take the stress off Makar as putting up points on the back end. 2 Years would be a little tough to accept bc You have Girard Byram Zads as the left side depth the following season

I agree wiht you, Drouin is my nightmare. I wouldnt move JT and his heart and soul workhorse attitude straight up for Drouin, regardless of the point production. I cant stand Drouin and I hope Mack doesnt have to be side saddled by him ever again

...Jake Gardiner isn't the worst D in the league...but I can understand being very hesitant around anything high dollar or with term.

I like what Drouin brings, but I understand the hate regarding him. Who would you want to see up next to MacK is we bring Landy down a line?

I wouldnt give Gardiner directions to the arena, I'm sure that graves/barberio/connaughton can handle the load until Cole gets back.... if makar cant handle it, which I believe he can

makar is not going to replace 60 points on the back end. There has been 9 in NHL history and they are all hall of famers. Thats a huge ask for him to do something like that. 45 points would be fair. Thats doing what Dahlin did and even that was very special.

60 points what are you talkin about? Barrie or Gardner? I'm not expecting to have makar pick up barries slack, I'm hoping that they can all share the load and bow that they have a second line I'm sure they chip in too

Barrie had a 59 point season....I said Makar wont replace the Barrie production bc 60 points would be out of control for a rookie Dman in the day and age. I guess I thought you were saying he would replace it when you said "if makar cant handle it, which I believe he can"

Hahahahahahaha! Massively overrating Drouin. I'm not gonna go as far as Coga in saying Drouin is my worst nightmare but he's worth a first straight up and that's about it. Anything else will be an overpay.

No miscommunication, i was talking about minutes and overall play when I said that makar can handle it. He can handle it a ton more than Jake Gardiner could.. although I hope makar can score 60 points this season I'm not expecting it. I know that when makar and girard were paired together last year they looked amazing, and I'm sure they both play on the pp this year, and probably 3 on 3

A 24 year old winger who just put up 53 pts for the second time in the last 3 seasons. Drouin has unreal hands too and hes trending up, I wouldn’t give up on him just yet.. at least not for that.

Compher is good third line player, Zadorov is a 5-6 D and the 2nd should be close to a third with how good the Avs are getting. No thanks.

Keep going you're making me laugh even more. Zads is a 5-6 D and Compher is a good third line player LOL! Better than most comedy shows in North America so far.

Drouin is a 1 dimensional 2nd line winger who had only 2 more goals in 10 extra games played over compher while playing too minutes and pp. Drouin isn’t special or elite offensively and for a guy who can’t play defense at all you need him to be elite offensively to justify that lack of 2 way ability.

Stop acting like Drouin is special,

Hell, Tyson Barrie put up more points from the D the last two seasons!
