Leafs - Maximizing LTIR relief last day of training camp

Description

Suppose Marner isn't signed before the season starts.
On the last day of training camp I understand the Leafs have no roster limit and so can build an average club salary that reaches a total of $95,154,142, as shown below and use the training camp formula for ACSL.

There are four LTIRs to be potentially used: Horton, Clarkson, Hyman, and Dermott. They total $13.66M. and once they are applied the Leafs will have an Accruable Cap Space Limit (ACSL) = $95.154M. - $13.66M = $81.494M which is within 6K of the $81.5M allowed for opening day.

This is just one example, there are other combinations that might come close. The key here is to note how the Leafs added 7 signings earlier today, to give a mix of salaries they can work with to assemble an LTIR-optimized opening day roster in the situation where Marner is unsigned on the last day of training camp.

I don't think any of us should pretend to know fully how LTIR works. People that work in the league don't know all the rules. It's truly crazy.

I don't pretend to know everything but I have tapped into some resources and done some research, asked questions of a cap expert and read sections of the CBA. Looking forward to seeing what I got wrong or how it can be improved.

So basically 18 or so of the players above will be sent grown and the LTIR people will be placed in said reserve and the leads will have around 16 million dollars i. Cap space without Marner. Right?

There is offseason LTIR which the Leafs reportedly used two years ago with Horton and Lupul. The 10%, to my understanding, is above that.

I haven't done the math or 23 man roster build to see what excess they may have, let me know if you build one.
