I personally really like that trade. Don't know about those lines though. I would do Neal-McDavid-Chiasson and Draisaitl-Nuge-Kassian just so that you can have two legitimate scoring lines in Edmonton.

I could see swapping Russell for Benning but thinking the Oilers would want more in return.

Wings give up two prospects for one and taken on horrible contract for a player they can put on LTIR and only cost 1 million in real dollars. No thanks. This is a bad deal for Wings. Stevie is smarter than this.

Russel is to old to fit in to Detroit rebuild. It looks like Detroit is going to get all of Z's and Franzen's cap hit back plus Franzen's contract is over at the end of the season. So there is absolutely no reason to move Z. Now I'm sure there are plenty of Wings fans that like Puljujärvi and would like to have him on the Wings. I'm not one of them and if he is really whining that he can't play in Edmonton really? Come on if McDavid can't make you look good your probably just aren't very good. He was drafted high but by his play he has only proved he's bottom 6 forward and how many bottom 6 forwards throw temper tantrums and demand to be traded? Now I can see Svechnikov and Smith being traded and I think a defensive prospect would be nice and Edmonton has 4 really good D prospects. I don't know how Edmonton ranks them but I trade Svechnikov and Smith for the 4th best out that group. As much as I think the Wings should consult with me before making trades they don't so Puljujärvi could be part of a trade.

IMO If moving Lucic was the only the only move Holland made I think that alone makes Edmonton a much better team by itself.
