why do you think McAvoy isn't getting paid???? assuming he is as good as every bruins fan says he is he will easily command 6-8 mil depending on term or he will hold out.

McAvoy has said he doesn't want a long term deal. He wants a bridge because he wants to bet on himself. He really only has 2 years of work and has only managed to play in a possible 70% of games due to injuries. 2-3 year deal gives him 4-5 years as a top pairing d-man and if he stays healthy he should be a 40+ dman that plays all situations. Also at that point a lot of the old core will be gone and Boston will have more space to offer him more.

There is also the new TV deal that is looming (21-22 I believe is when the current deal is up) and rumor is that could make the cap take a massive jump up.
