Description

Realistically, I think Marner ends up getting his $10M bridge, and Nylander gets bounced out of town. They should have signed Marner before they signed Matthews, and then we could have avoided all of this. Hoffman with Marner and Tavares probably scores 40+ almost by mistake.

I think a straight up trade would work, but since Nylander is younger, has some term, and the Leafs don't have space to retain Hoffman after this season, getting some pick or mid-level prospect as a sweetener makes this deal work.

There will be a day in the not too distant future where people will realize William Nylander is good at hockey. Very much like the fall of 2017 when I was saying the same about Marner...
