Considering Puljujarvi wishes not to play for Edmonton, has struggled to stay in the line up, and his value is at an all time low, Dallas is making an overpayment for an unproven player. Puljujarvi is probably consider a bargain to any GM interested. A GM is not going to offer the store when shopping in the bargain bin.

Probably depends how healthy Edmonton's blue line is. If they have a roster spot, a two for one provides fair value. If they have 25 guys healthy in camp, this just puts more of their guys on waivers. Janmark and something is probably close, but maybe Janmark and a worse bust than Puljujarvi?

It’s an overpay. A 2nd round pick or a middle 6 guy should be enough to get him. If a bidding war for him erupts out of nowhere, then maybe this is what it takes. Otherwise, this is likely more than any team will offer for an unproven player in Puljujarvi.
