I like that you did this. And I think that whatever contract Marner gets from the leafs it'll be around that budgetted amount that you have left over in cap space, and less with less term. I kinda think the leafs aren't keen to make any other roster adjustments until they get close to the TDL. Marner at 9M/3 years is where I think this lines up. Sucks for both sides given what each side wants, but also works for both sides. And if both sides are slightly unhappy then that's probably fair

Timashov makes the team (must clear waivers this season to go back to the Marlies), the Leafs need a new pest with Kadri gone. Plus Timashov is the cheapest spare forward in the system.
