pretty good top four D and a couple picks would seem like a decent haul for willy. really depends on how he lives up to his contract tho, if he starts producing, then my valuation is wayyy off

I'm willing to bet that after this season, nobody is going to want to trade Willy. I can see his contract end up being a steal, especially with training camp this year and a full season on Matthews wing (where he belongs).

add in the fact that Toronto has paid his big signing bonus on July 1st, you would have a very valuable trade chip

I know the Leaf would like a RHD but, trading Nylander really creates hole at RW. Aberg and Kulhacki as regulars?

This is a refreshing change of pace from most Nylander discussions this year. All year I was justifying his contract to the hoards of naysayers like I was the lone Viking at the Battle of Stamford Bridge

LOL I know man, Im a Habs fan and the idea of trading him always seemed funny to me. Sign him to this big contract half way through the year and then wonder why he struggled and trade him for cheap just made no sense but I got to sit back and laugh

Nylander's problem has never been his skill or talent - it's his give-a-sh*t meter that's broken. He's incredibly inconsistent, can be so dominant some nights and completely invisible other nights. The most important thing for Nylander to do this year is to meet his contract expectations (i.e., 60-70 points), and if he exceeds them great. But the true test will be how he handles adversity (i.e., moved to another line away from Matthews, or playing centre if Matthews gets injured).

I mean I'm more of a smeagol trying to lure Leafs fans into a dark cave where they think trading Nylander and Marner is a good thing....

I really thought the Leafs had to trade Nylander for cap reasons before June 20th (whatever). And after last season the Leafs would have got pennies on the dollars. Trading Marleau (and Brown) and his 6.25m cap hit, eliminated the need to trade Nylander
