TatarJuulsen and Armia out Suzuki and Brook in

Created by: Billy739
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 16, 2019
Published: Aug. 17, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Mete is in the AHL to find his goal scoring ability and will be called up if we go on a playoff run .

Both Poehling and Suzuki are put in a position to Succeed while remaining competitive in the NHL rookie race .

Domi-Fischer chemistry should help Domi adjust to life after Shaw and Poehling 6'3 210 pound frame makes him the ideal Power Center to create room for Domi to score .

Byron-Glendenning makes sense because between them they'll rack up 200+ blocked shots 300 + hits 1000+ faceoffs while being key players on the Penalty kill and great mentors for Suzuki as both are widely known for their Work Ethic and Over Achieving .

Fiala's a great upgrade on Armia for Kotkanemi to grow with and a good offense weapon to add to the Power Play

Hagg's a top 10 hitter in the league and just 24 , he's someone we can re-sign and keep who would become a clear upgrade on Reilly allowing Mete time in the AHL with Bouchard to develop his goal scoring touch . (added bonus is his style will allow Brook the chance to flex his offensive muscle as Hagg attracts a lot of attention from opponents for his hits)

Investing in Young RFA's who havent had the best year in some case's knowing that a change to a Speed based defensive system could greatly help them turn things around .

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Fiala, Kevin [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
-With Spurgeon is 29 and a pending UFA so there is high odds that MIN will move him out for a nice profitable return to help them longterm .

Juulsen gives them someone to play behind Dumba in a top 4 second pair capacity longterm but for now he'll compete with Pateryn to earn it

-Armia offers MIN a middle 6 winger with Size who's made a name for himself battling for pucks on the boards as well as being a leader on the Penalty Kill .

-2nd round pick

-Conditional 3rd round pick :
if Fiala reaches a career high 50+ points in MTL before the 2021 draft this pick becomes a 2nd in 2021

MIN new GM gets a chance to try and undo some of the damage from the Fenton era getting piece's to build on and picks to add depth of his own choosing .
MIN
  1. Armia, Joel
  2. Juulsen, Noah
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (MTL)
  4. 2021 3rd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
-MTL gets a 23 year old RFA who's situation is comparable to Domi's last summer. Fiala would become arguably our fastest skater and could be a capable option for Kotkanemi to grow with .

MTL pay's what seems like a heft price but we do so knowing he'll be locked up for 7 years at 4.75m dollars in cap with maximum performance bonus's as added incentive to ensure the cost we paid was worth it
2.
MTL
  1. Hägg, Robert
  2. Ratcliffe, Isaac
Additional Details:
-PHI makes room on LD for Provorov , Ghost and Sanheim to lead .

-Ratcliffe is a potential future middle six winger with size comparable to Armia's current role or Lehkonen's.
PHI
  1. Hudon, Charles
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (MTL)
  3. 2020 4th round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
-Hudon has had issues with our new Coach, he went from Michel Therrien using him as a 3rd line regular and PK guy to Claude Julien taking over and never knowing what line he'll be on or how many shifts he'll get with no special teams time to speak of . He just needs out and i think playing with Nolan Patrick would be beneficial for both as Hudon loves to Shoot creating tons of rebounds for teammates .

- Conditional 3rd becomes a 2nd if Ratcliffe starts before the 2020 draft for 20 games or more including playoffs .
3.
MTL
  1. Fischer, Christian
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (ARI)
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
-conditional 2020 2nd becomes a 1st if ARZ makes WCF with Tatar playing 50% of the games or more .

-Conditional 2022 2nd becomes a 1st if Tatar re-signs
ARI
  1. Tatar, Tomas ($2,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
-ARZ gets Tatar for 2.8m cap helping Kessel lead their team to a playoff birth based largely on special teams and their goal scoring .

Tatar's low cap and avoiding having to pay out to Fischer put ARZ in a position to make a move for a RD who isnt 30-33 but someone who can grow with their 2 stud LD .
4.
MTL
  1. Glendening, Luke
Additional Details:
MTL adds a player who Hits and Blocks shots every game and is capable of 1000+ faceoffs at a 55% win rate making him ideal to help Suzuki jump to the NHL .
DET
  1. Lindgren, Charlie
  2. Reilly, Mike
  3. 2020 4th round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
-DET add defensive depth both on the Blueline and in net .

-Conditonal 4th round pick becomes a 2nd if MTL makes ECF with Glendenning

Hagg's worth a 4th maybe a 3rd at best
Ratcliffe's worth a 3rd and Hudon

i could include Vedejmo or Hillis who are alson B grade prospects under 25 like Hudon .
but Ratcliffe's 6'6 and a 2-3 year project at minimum , Hudon's way closer to being a NHL regular then him .
MTL just likes Ratcliffe because of his history watching Suzuki's back he'd be the ideal bottom 6 winger for us to keep around as insurance.

but neither prospect taken is in a position to win a roster spot from the current talent ahead of them just like Hudon they've been pushed out by new acquisitions .
i honestly think Hudon with Patrick and Koenechy would make a fast, physical and dominant offensive 3rd line for PHI.
