Description
Saw this trade proposed by a CHI fan. Laine is a once in a generational goal scorer (and trading him in the division could end up be one of the worst outcomes ever), but I think the value isn't too far off.
I wouldn't expect the lines to stay this way all year, but that third line is incredibly intriguing.

You're not getting full return for Laine when he isn't signed and everyone knows you can't afford him

This may just be me, but I feel like Jets fans think Laine's value= Connor McDavid. The common return on this website for Laine is a top notch, young center, a proven winger, a good defenseman or defensive prospect, and 2 firsts. It seems like an overpayment.

No one thinks he is Connor McDavid. At the same time he is not worth an ok top 4 dman like klefbom (example I saw) straight up. To me a trade like Domi and Brook from Montreal with maybe a second is a fair trade for what laine can bring. However, laine ceiling is so high that it is not worth trading him anyway.

The Jets have more than enough salary cap space to sign both of them...flushed cheeks

he isn't worth that obviously... but most of those trades on here, i'll rather have laine simple as that the key to winning a game is to get the puck in the net......

Just to be clear, this was what a CHI fan suggested as a trade for Laine.

Sure they can afford them but not if they want a contender any time soon. They could use a defenseman or two and a second line center. Then they'll need money next season for morrissey.
