Danault is one of those quietly very good players. Like Anthony Cirelli in Tampa Bay. Kind of untouchable. Those guys are the future Bergerons. Not too flashy, they don't put up a TON of points, but are great defensively. Plus, Chicago isn't going to get Danault back with Kampf, Toews, Strome, and Dach who are all good big defensive forwards who can put up 50+ points.
Okay, lot to take issue with on the hawks players assessments. Firstly, if there was a way to bring back danault, for the love of god please try. He is exceptional, which you and I both agree on.
Now for the other players. Kampf: in now way is he a 50 point getter. Maybe that’s down to him 4th line status, but he will never get close. Strome: definitely a 50+ point getter, however, he in no way is a good defensive forward. In fact, he’s actually pretty bad, and realistically kinda played into our woahs defensively last year. Toews: right on both counts, definitely. Dach: oh dach, you terrify me. Not in a good way either. Maybe he can play defense, and realistically, I doubt he’ll ever score more than 65-70 points, if that, since I’m being very generous. But my god is he lazy. Plus he has very little drive for a guy who supposedly sold bowman on being a “winner”. But anyway, that’s my two cents.
