That guy is a troll but uh yeah Faulk was CARs worst D man in terms of WAR60 last season and DET has 6 D they can roster that had better WAR60 than Faulk.

Tell me why you think any 1 of them is better than Faulk

This doesnt really help my argument, but still says something... no detroit players to be seen over faulk

Already gave you a basic summary with the WAR60. Faulk is an OFD PP specialist that barely produces offense anymore.

Why trade Mantha for an unproven player? Detroit really needs to hold on to the good pieces they have. I do agree Detroit needs defense but let's be honest if Faulk is traded to Detroit there is little to no chance he resigns in Detroit.

Necas would be a great piece. Either you want to rebuild or you don't.

The Wings are rebuilding and trading a true goal scorer for a kid who has done nothing but struggle at the NHL level. Yes he is young and he will probably end up being a very good player. It's a risk a rebuilding team shouldn't take.

He got a cup of coffee just like Zadina and he had a great year in the AHL. Plus he has some experience playing with Zadina...

Yes the same Zadina who I'm still not convinced was the right choice he fell to Detroit and Detroit probably should've let him pass and gone with a defenseman. I think they should've passed on Rasmussen as well. When you are rebuilding you should go with a sure thing not players that several teams before you have passed on. Now the sure thing isn't as flashy but he gets the job done. The Wings drafted Mantha at 20 when he was projected to go around 10. Now the Wings were still in the playoffs and had a decent squad so they could risk taking a player who had dropped that many spots. Look at how long it took him to get to the NHL and be productive there. Trading him for Necas isn't the right move.

Wins above replacement? Really? Could you not use more accurate and meaningful stats? Try GAR, or RAMP, I don't know if either help Faulk in any situation, but WAR is not exactly the most reliable of stats when used on skaters

I could look at RAPM but I don't care enough to dive into it. There is good reason the analytical group of Tulsky and Kan have not given Faulk an extension.

They havent given him an extension yet because he hasnt even started his final year on his contract..,. Very rarely do players get extensions before their final year.

Extensions only happen like that to stars, I.e Vasilevsky
