What would be fair to pick up a 29yr old dman since my offer of a 1st round pick with two years in NHL under his belt and tons of upside and a second round pick isn't sufficient.

Look elsewhere. Preds are a cup contender. They are not downgrading by trading a guy that’s underpaid, underrated and signed for 3 more years.

BTW. Mete was a 4th round pick and is overrated by Habs fans. ??‍♂️ Only reason he has seen the NHL at this point is the sad state of the LD in Montreal, any other team he stays in the AHL the whole time and again this year.

Have you even seen him play this year, I don't agree with the trade but he's not overrated by habs fan they all say Weber is carrying him when the truth is they compliment each other really well because Weber isn't the fastest he tries to pinch instead of being overskated but when they pass him, Mete has to backcheck to cover defensively... He skates very well, makes good passes and has a decent vision, If he improved his shot this summer this might open up more passing lanes. Also he focused on his defensive play because CJ won't tolerate bad defensive plays (Galchenyuk, Paccioretty, Reilly and Hudon are good examples.). In the last stretch of the season he joined the attack way more and if he can keep it up his pts are going to go up. When in London he was way more offensive. IMO he will have more confidence this year and get 25pts+

I did not say he was going to suck. I think he has enough there to maybe be similar to a Jarod Spurgeon type of player eventually. But Habs fans have gone overboard. I’ve seen first pairing, All-Star, untouchable used on so many occasions it’s ridiculous. He is an undersized , mid-round pick, offensive d man with mediocre offensive stats in jr’s. I could make an argument that he is not one of Habs 3 best D prospects. 4 or 5 years from now he might only be the 4th or 5th best d man in the team. That’s not a bad thing. But Habs fans hype and hyperbole on here about him has been crazy over the top. It’s normal of any fan base. Pump the brakes a little.
