Congrats, worst trade Ive seen in weeks lmao.
This deal is not even close on many, many levels.
Why on earth would the Avs move 2 of their best young future players for Hartnell (who will be 35 this year and cant say out of the penalty box) and Prout (who isn't a strong skater and also cant say out of the penalty box.

Atkinson is a good piece, but Hartnell kills his value (even with his salary retained).

Rumors are that the Avs might be willing to take Hartnell. I personally am very skeptical that any will happen. I am a huge fan of Atkinson and believe Jarmo would not want to trade him at all. I was putting a bit of my own spin on it. As far as, what I truely believe will happen, we might trade him for a prospect and maybe a middle round pick, if we retained money on him.

Hartnell still has value. And would likely go for a good prospect and second round pick. The only thing killing it is the NMC. No one wants one of those on their team come Expansion time.

This is one of those Eklund type rumors. Don't get too excited CLB fans, this isn't going to happen. This trade makes no sense whatsoever.

Jacketsman thinks Hartnell is the hottest thing since sliced bread, and tries to pawn him off on teams as such. Hartnell + junk for their best assets. Laughable. No real understanding of the rest of the league, how trades works, and how teams don't want overpaid, old junk for their young assets. Sorry, not sorry.

Hartnell gets 40 to 50 points every season. He maybe getting older but certainly doesn't play like it. The only reason the Jackets want to trade him is for cap room. We are still a year or two away from being a serious contender. Hartnell deserves to be on a contender. He could really help a contender. For actual GM's, like I stated, the problem is the NMC. See you are the stupid fans that look directly at age and immediately write them off. You understand nothing about hockey.

Looking at points put up this past season.
Forwards only (Hartnell is a F btw)
of the top 55 point producers only 3 were 35+ in age (Sedin, Thorton, Jagr - all NHL HoF players).
Its a young mans game, and you should educate yourself that age DOES matter (especially an age of 35 with a brutal contract)

consider yourself roasted.

That's not worth giving up A top 4 defenseman AND a stud young potential top 3-6 winger for. Prout has NEGATIVE value, and Atkinson doesn't do anything to tip the scale. You have to look at the player's age, contract, etc. You are not. He's 35 years old, signed for 4+ more years at 4.5 million. (retaining on it won't get you much more). He has a NMC and dictates where he goes (that limits his market). You aren't going to win this battle, bud.
