They should just trade him. He now wants a 3 year contract and to be paid 15 million in the 3rd year so he gets paid 15 million as a qo. He turned down 11×7. The leafs cant name a captain because he will have a tantrum.

I think Mitch is done as a leaf at this point. It is entirely untenable if even a tiny bit of these rumours are true.

He has the power to stop this. His inaction is tacit approval of their methods. If marner is the reason we can't even name a captain, he is toxic to the room and needs to go.

Some many other teams have their own drama with their RFAs except we read very little about it on CapFriendly. I'll say I'm being factual when I say the Leafs offers to Marner aren't much different than what any other team is offering. So, a trade doesn't necessarily get Marner signed either. And those teams aren't trading good assets without a signed contract for Marner.
