Problem is CGY has enough problem getting Tkachuk signed and they want to get someone who will cost them more? I like the idea but i don't see how it would work.

You aren't convincing Calgary to add. If anything it's one for one, but they probably wouldn't do that anyway. Tkachuk brings so much more than offense, and brings pretty similar offensive upside to Marner.
