Ducks have about 20 forwards fighting for 12 spots. Getting Kap means they essentially lose someone like Ritchie for nothing to waivers, and this doesn't make them a better team.

They could certainly always trade one but I see your point. I think the leafs would lose on this deal massively. I certainly wouldn’t do it.

Yeah, if I were the Leafs I wouldn't want to make the move either TBH. You're losing some significant depth up front.

Honestly, if I'm moving Manson, it's gotta be for a young high potential D-man (Sandin/Liljegren), plus a pick. That also shouldn't work for you guys, because you're going to need those ELC's.

I hear both of these points, but at the same time, don't the leafs need a way better defense still? Barrie is a nice addition but you can't always outscore your opponents in the playoffs
