I actually like Backes. PK specialist, enough grit, and a leader. Only part about him I don’t like is his cap hit.

hes essentially a 6m dollar 4th liner now which is a great role for what he can still provide but wagner does the same thing for a whole lot less.

I mean this was one of the main reason they sign him because he always has been a good leader and he his the kind of player Bruin love, respect for the team

they signed him to be a 2rw/2c for krecji insurance. However backes play has significantly fallen off due to his play style. Hes slower and the speed of the game is kind of passing him by.

yes he looked good but it was also pre-season. The only spot he can play on this team is 4rw
