Opening Night Probably

Description
This is based off of the most common combinations from the last few preseason games. I am ignoring Gibson and Guhle's possible injuries as there is nothing conclusive about them yet.

Steel seems out for at least a little bit and Lundestrom has made the Swede line a little Swede'r (sorry, I know).

Holzer and MDZ have kind of varied so far. Even though MDZ makes more sense, Holzer has been in the last 2 preseason games in which the D has not really changed much at all. I think Holzers first bad game will likely see him swap with MDZ if not sooner.

Sprong hit waivers and hasn't played in the last 3 preseason games. I think he may just spend some time with SD at this point and get a chance to sharpen his game.

I am pretty spotty on the winger aside from the swede line. But this seems to be the popular choice. I prefer Ritchie or Jones with Kase for protection, but Comtois/Getz/Kase seems to be more popular. I still don't think Comtois or Lundestrom stick with the Ducks full time, they need to go down to SD and dominate a bit more. Jones and Steel both seem ready to graduate.

I think this is pretty close to what we're going to see Thursday, though all the injured players are skating today so I think we can probably pencil in Steel instead of Lundestrom. I'm not sure we're going to see Kase on Getzlaf's wing (though that's what I would do). I'm starting to wonder if Ritchie is an automatic anymore. How likely is it that we see Jones AND Comtois in the line and Ritchie scratched? After Sprong got waived today, I'm not convinced Eakins is going to shoehorn Ritchie into the lineup for the sake of seniority or anything like that. I mean, I'd rather those two play over him but Ritchie seems to find his way into the lineup somehow.

Excited to see Lundestrom and that Swedes line in full competition. They've had good chemistry. Would prefer Jones over Comtois based on performance during preseason, but won't be disappointed to get a longer look at Comtois.

I like Comtois and Jones for different reasons. But in general I like watching Jones style of play. He's creative, scrappy, and has some hands. Comtois is really poised and has a solid shot. I think in this case, Getz seems to like play with Comtois a lot. I personally would replace Ritchie with Jones.

I agree. If Jones can find more of a scoring touch (enough for 10-15 goals per year), he'll be perfect top 9 forward. I love the pressure he puts on the opposition and his work rate. We need more players like him.

Comtois hasn't been as impressive this off-season, but I still feel he's got the tools and the IQ to be a legit 1st line W. I'd like a longer look at him, but, ultimately, I think he needs to be in the AHL for this season. We shouldn't rush him. He's going to be good one, eventually.

I would like to see how Ritchie performs this season. He progressed significantly last summer and I am hoping for more of the same this year. We'll see. If he doesn't show any signs of progression I think we should look to offload him. We have better, harder working wingers coming through. If Ritchie can't keep up, he needs to be moved.
