Description
Fleury’s had a rough go of it so far so I sent him down to the AHL for now. Suzuki could also use some more sheltering and the second line hasn’t been working so Weal can move up and Suzuki can get some time at centre in a depth role.

Honka adds a RHD with upside to replace Fleury. Ho-Sang I just really like and I think he’ll be a good player, plus the Habs could use an extra scoring winger with Suzuki sliding down to 4C.

My main concern would be that this lineup lacks a centre that can be trusted for defensive zone faceoffs (outside of Danault) so maybe Weal could double shift as a 4C or something to account for that. Overall I like this lineup as it gives Montreal 4 solid scoring lines and the rookies are a little more insulated.

I think that given Honka's contract position and lack of real NHL production to date makes a 2nd quite an overpayment. I know he's a former 1st round pick but he hasn,t shown much at the NHL level so far.

Terrible asset management at its finest.........

A guy that was free a week ago and a guy that's being overpaid grossly. Losing a 2nd and a 3rd on this makes zero sense.

Why not trade Hudon, a 2nd and a 3rd for actual current NHL players......... Andrew Shaw was traded for this exact return..... (a 2nd, 3rd and a 7th)

Yeah I didn’t want to underpay for Honka so I went with the high end price of a 2nd rounder. He probably could be had for a 3rd rounder but I figured better overpay just in case.

Also I’d push back a bit on the “he hasn’t done much at the NHL level” thing. He’s got great underlying numbers, he just hasn’t really put up the points yet.
