If there was a contract in place, that package is not nearly good enough.

You're giving up more than I would like to see go out, but I'd be happy to see Hall back... I think an 8 year extension is too long though. That carries Hall to his 36-year-old season, there's no possible way he'll maintain his elite play that long.

Also, injuries. Since joining NJ Hall is 53rd in the NHL in scoring - behind the likes of Staal, Granlund, Marchessault and Bailey - simply because he can't stay healthy. His average of 61 points per season certainly isn't worth $10M, especially considering he won't be able to carry that level of play forward throughout the next 8 years.
