Quite an overpay too move JJ for three years at 2.5...

I think the right move is to use other players to whittle down the JJ contract.
If they can retain 1 million on JJ for say Kahun or Jugs.
and maybe 500k for DeSmith or Chad R.
Then you are looking at a 1.75 million JJ contract or something.
Then if the team taking him buries him it's only a 500k cap hit so it's a lot less risk.
Maybe that's worth taking a run at him for a team needing LD.
They need to start getting creative if they are going to move him. They have assets they are going to move anyway. They are going to move one of Jarry or DeSmith.
They are probably going to move Chad R if not they lose him in the offseason for nothing anyway. So why not get something out of it.
They will move on from one of Jugs or Kahun just because of the number of forwards on the team.
None of them are going to bring much back anyway, so this would make a lot of sense to use them to swallow up a cap hit.

Matt Murray Is not worth $7 million/year. He just isn't that good of a goaltender. He WILL end up being overpaid because of the idiotic contracts others have received.
