1) Imagine thinking that only a 2nd and 3rd is the difference in value between the best player in the world and Barkov. Yes Barkov is incredible, but hes not even close to McDavid. Barkov is closer to the impact of a Kopitar. Elite but far from generational.

2) Drai is on a cheaper contract, a way better player already, signed longer term, and 10 years younger... What a dumb suggestion.

3) Drouin hasn't lived up to his contract, and you want to give up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for him? He's not worth that at all

4) How to screw over a franchise? Trade 1st round pick for an aging and injury prone goalie signed long term.

5) Galchneyuk is a bad 2nd or good 3rd line player. Imagine thinking a 1st, THREE 2nds, and two 3rds. Given he's a rental, a 2nd and 3rd would be closer in value.

Like I said. Barkov is an elite player and theres no denying his contract is great. McDavid has way more impact on the game. Its not a knock on Barkov, its a testament to how good McDavid is. Ultimately if you think that a 2nd and a 3rd round pick make up the difference, you are the only human on the planet that thinks that. Takes a special person to think that and theres no way I can convince you otherwise.
