Vegas isn't giving up Eaken, Boychuk isn't waiving for Ducks when he is on a team almost in contention. Isles don't want Benning and Gagner and I doubt Boychuk waives for EDM.

You did not explain why you think mayfield is the one to go.

Vegas would do that in heartbeat. Defense especially on RD is terrible. Glass moves to C3 and Eakin is gone at years end anyway.

Pulock isn't going anywhere. Dobson isn't going anywhere and Boychuk will be too hard to move and they can get a good return for Mayfield... It's pretty simple.

By the time Boychuks contract is over Wilde will be NHL ready. Boychuk is still useful as well.

I was just getting peoples opinions on this. I was off a lot on value. After getting people's input Toffoli and a pick makes more sense than Iafallo +. Read the bio and the title. I've already explained the buyout issue. Isles aren't going to want to go through another bad buyout and they still have Ladd to worry about soon.

Ladd has nothing to do with Boychuk. If it makes sense for Boychuk to be bought out, they’ll do it. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.

Let me suggest an entirely different kind of offer. If this exchange is going to take place in the off-season, by definition we're not talking about either Toffoli or immediate help for New York. LA's second-round pick has significant value in June because it will almost certainly be in the top 36 and may well be within 10 slots of the Islanders' own first. So what about LA's 2020 second plus Jaret Anderson-Dolan or Akil Thomas or even Kyle Clague?

They are both players who have horrible contracts with more than one year left that aren't worth their money. Ladd is more likely to be bought out eventually in my opinion. Can't buy them both out.

Nope. I can’t figure out why buying out Ladd makes buying out Boychuk an unrealistic possibility. Honestly, neither one is going to be bought out, they both have significant signing bonuses. Burying one or both would probably make more sense.
