I think we'll probably just keep Biega and let him leave at free agency, I can't see anyone spending picks on him. Doesn't really matter anyway, just my take. I think that's a little much for an injury prone Green who is having a down year. I would be happy for a 3rd for him honestly. Also, I'm never a fan of taking on contracts for picks, especially to help Boston, but I would consider this one, but I don't know if Stevie would. These deals are kind of rare nowadays, but technically we have the cap but still, we already have Nielsen and Abdelkader to deal with, I don't really want anymore old high contract guys taking young kids roster spots. Also I think we can at least count Helm as being moved, and possibly Athanasiou as well. I expect it to be a pretty active trade deadline

All fair points, and you probably know more than I do. My rationale for Biega is we always see teams acquire depth d at the TDL for late picks, and Biega is playing decently. Also I believe Backes will end up on LTIR next year, plus the Wings likely have another year or two before competing, so why not (although I understand not wanting to help Boston lol).

Also, I have no clue what Helm and Athanasiou would be valued at, I image high for the latter.

The last thing we need is another righty defenseman. And if we did need one for some reason, we'd simply recall Reinke.

I think we can get a 3rd for Helm if we retain %50, and I hope we don't take anything less than a first and a mid-tier prospect for AA.
