For Hall or Gaudreau? Stop being so vague!

Calgary never even considers this

For Gaudreau, it is a lateral move for both teams that favors Jersey much more than Calgary. If NJ continues to struggle this year Hall is likely walking regardless. If they trade him for a lateral player with some term and only a little more coat wise to Halls current contract their young core should be significantly more developed by the time Gaudreau's term runs out and they ahould be a more successful team overall. On the other hand Calgary is giving up a team friendly contract for a very not team friendly one with more term. Not to mention Hall is fairly injury prone and has a toxic reputation. No matter how you cut it, no team is going to trade NJ a superstar with term for Hall. It will all be futures and maybe some short term cap pieces going the other way
