Description

It wont be for Pietrangelo imo. I doubt Armstrong would trade their captain mid-season. Armstrong is not stupid. Might it be for another different Dman? Yes it might. It likely isnt. I can see a possible swap of Andreas Johnsson for Oskar Sundqvist kinda deal. Maybe STL adds a prospect or pick. Not sure, but Im extremely doubtful its Pietrangelo. Leafs want to have as much C depth as possible and Sundqvist would make it a reality. Basically two capable centers on each line. One lefty (JT, Matthews, Kerfoot, Engvall) and one righty (Hyman, Nylander, Sundqvist, Spezza). Does it work? I think so.

Johnsson and Sundqvist have similar values. I just like that swap for both teams more than trade of Pietrangelo who many suggest is what they speak about.

Perhaps similar value to the Leafs, but not to the Blues.

The Leafs aren't after depth players from STL and their big boys aren't scouting Toronto for table scraps. It's Pietrangelo for something like Ceci and Hyman and they're watching to see both in person.

Pietrangelo would already be signed and they wouldn't have added Faulk if he was staying.

Maybe. I think in that case it would need to be Barbashev and like 2021 1st or 2020 2nd with him. I personally find most sense if it was Sundqvist for Johnsson and some parts on each side type of deal.

We will see what happens, I think it makes the most sense out of any other possibilities. I dont see Blues dealing captain mid-season. It would likely be like Gauthier for Husso type of deal LMAO

As he should. Nylander has been the most consistent Leafs forward from like February. I dont see Leafs trading Nylander ever tho.
